What size goods can you carry?
We use a VW Caddy van, so we can carry anything from an envelope to a euro pallet. The maximum size we can carry is 1170mm wide, 1600mm long, and 1200mm high. The maximum weight we can carry is approximately 450kg.
How much will a same day courier cost?
DIRect Courier Services like to keep things simple and fair by providing you with a price structure which is easy to understand. It is simply calculated by pence per mile (PPM). You will only pay for the distance travelled while your goods are on board from the collection address to the delivery address. We charge £1 per mile (including VAT). Please note that for local deliveries a minimum charge may apply.
Occasionally we may have a van that is already going to the same area you require your items to go. If you're happy for another item to be on board with your goods we will offer you a discounted rate. This will improve our carbon footprint and lower your costs.
Are there any hidden charges?
No. We do not apply any extra charges for out-of-hours deliveries, nor for weekends or bank holidays. Whether it be a single item or a full van you will only pay one rate. (PPM x Collection to Delivery mileage). The only additional costs you may occur will be for any tolls, ferry, or congestion charges accumulated whilst transporting your goods. Wherever possible, these will be included in your quote.
Are my goods safe with you?
Absolutely. We are committed to getting your goods to their destination as quickly and as safely as possible. We are fully insured with £10,000 goods in transit insurance, and upto £5,000,000 public liability insurance. Our drivers are CRB checked and are also members of the Institute of Advanced Motorists, so you know that your items are always in safe hands.
How do I pay?
If you are a private customer, we require cash on collection or payment in advance by PayPal or bank transfer. If you are a business customer, you can pay by cash, company cheque, or bank transfer to be paid within 28 days of the date on the invoice. New, one-off or occasional business customers may be required to pay by cash or cheque on collection. Credit terms may be considered on applying and may be subject to a credit check.
How do I know when my goods have been delivered?
After we have delivered your goods and they have been signed for by the person or company receiving them, we will either phone, text or email you to confirm its safe delivery. Just let us know when we collect the item(s) which method of notification you prefer.
